Uh! I’ve been so stinking busy I have failed to keep you informed of the awesome stuff happening in the Finger Lakes for the past couple of weekends. The Glorious Garlic Festival at Fox Run Winery was great (I heard), and the Italian Festival in Watkins Glen was a good one too (I also heard).

But I’m back on track now (for now anyway), and here’s what happening this weekend in the Finger Lakes – August 9-11, 2013:

Finger Lakes Riesling Festival
August 10-11 – Lakeshore Drive, Canandaigua, NY. Via rieslingfestival.com:

If our region is known for anything, it is probably the excellence of our Rieslings. The experts agree that Finger Lakes Rieslings are truly world class. And you can experience them for yourself in the Wine Garden.

The area’s top wineries will be on hand, offering samples of their award-winning Rieslings, and you can purchase Rieslings by the bottle for off-site consumption. You’ll also be able to enjoy live entertainment throughout the weekend in this adults-only venue.

Next week is the last weekend of the Sterling Renaissance Fest!
Sterling Renaissance Festival – Saturdays & Sundays – July 6 – August 18 2013

Sterlin Renaissance Festival 2013I haven’t been to this in probably 15 years. I always loved it! (bring your pocket book.)

The Renaissance Festival is a dramatic recreation of an Elizabethan village at festival time. It is a Renaissance styled theme park, a 12-stage performance venue, a 35-acre interactive/environmental theatre, an arts and crafts faire, a Jousting Tournament, a food festival and tavern, all rolled into one non-stop, day-long, family adventure!
