Seneca Lake Wine Trail

With dozens of wineries, the Seneca Lake Wine Trail is very popular in the Finger Lakes! The Seneca Lake Wine Trail is a group of wineries (34 at the time of this writing) that share a common interest in the production of world class wines of all styles. The wine trail organizes several ticketed events and passports through out the year, where visitors can hop from winery to winery and take part in the event.

Popular 2014 Seneca Lake Wine Trail Events:

Smokin’ Summer Kickoff, June 6-8, 2014
This is one of the Seneca Lake Wine Trail’s newest wine and food pairing weekend event. Come celebrate summer, the many wonderful foods associated with this beautiful time of year, and the fantastic wines that pair with grilled and summertime foods! Start your summer season off with this fun-filled wine and food pairing weekend, check in at your chosen starting winery, pick up your ticket and gift item, then enjoy a self-guided tour around beautiful Seneca Lake during this 2-1/2 day event. This event is co-sponsored by JAVA-GOURMET. Regular tickets purchased in advance are $35 per person.

Deck the Halls Weekend, November 21-23 or December 5-7, 2014
Go to your assigned starting winery and begin a weekend of fun and festivities while sampling holiday wines and food tastings. The wineries are decorated for the holiday season. Over the two day weekend event, visit the participating wineries, receive a recipe book and collect ornaments to decorate your handmade grapevine wreath. These events are both co-sponsored by The Christmas House, located in nearby Elmira, NY. Cost $53 per person or $75 for a couple.

Passports

A passport is a booklet that you purchase at any of the participating wineries. Your passport allowes an individual a standard flight of wine at each participating winery listed in the passport (normal, non-passport tasting fees at most wineries range from $2-$5). A flight of wine will typically include 4-8 samples of 1oz each.

Once you purchase a Seneca Lake Wine Trail passport, show your passport when tasting, and the staff will stamp or mark your booklet. Passports are not intended for use by groups over 8 people.
