We try to go to Roseland Waterpark every summer. This summer nearly snuck by without a visit. Oh no! We worked in a mid-week afternoon in late August though, so tragedy avoided. I would have been hearing about missing Roseland all year from my scarred-for-life 6 year old.
Roseland Waterpark is one of those places I always forget is here (see the above paragraph) in the Finger Lakes. It’s located right off of Routes 5&20 in Canandaigua, across from Wegmans (250 Eastern Boulevard).
Here are some facts about the park, directly from roselandwaterpark.com:
Roseland Waterpark is the largest Waterpark in the Finger Lakes Region with 56 acres of aquatic adventure for the entire family. Sparkling heated water, J. Ellis & Associates certified lifeguards, free parking, rental lockers, concessions and plenty of deck space for relaxing make this the hottest spot to get cool on Canandaigua Lake.
Even though we were there mid-week, it was in the 80s so it was pretty packed. Its not s huge park, so i guess it doesn’t take much to be crowded. We went after 3pm to save a few dollars (it was still $17 a piece), but because of crowds we didn’t really have enough time to do everything (like Adventure River).
The favorite for my 6 year old is the Giant Wave Pool, and for the little one, the Splash Factory was a hit. We all rode the Mammoth Raft Ride together, the 2 year old screaming in fear at first, then ending with smiles and cheers. She got out of the raft and immediately ran to get in line again.
My tip: bring a wagon!
You have towels, sunscreen, shoes, stuff, stuff and more stuff. Yes, there are lockers. But it’s nice to have your stuff right there. You can throw your kids in there too.
Overall, not a bad time at all. Definitely worth the annual trip. Hey, I even made a fun collage for you to pin on Pinterest!
