Can you believe we’re in the last week of September already? Pumpkins are out, heat is on, air conditioners are still in the window (thanks to the variety of weather in our Upstate NY climate), wineries are knee-deep (literally) in harvested grapes and tweeting about it constantly. It’s only natural that this weekend’s events have grape and harvest themes:
Sept 29 & 30 – 23rd Annual Hunt Country Harvest Festival – There are WAY too many things going here to list them all. Food, Wine, Wagon Rides, Grape Stomping, Live Music. Free Admission – No Reservations Necessary, Families Welcome. I would definitely consider doing Special Cellar Tasting with winemaker Jonathan Hunt (limited seating, 45 minutes, $7 per person) Saturday 12:30, 2:30, 4:30, Sunday 11:30, 1:30, 3:30. More Info. Sept 29 & 30 Naples Grape Festival – Fine Arts and Crafts, Food, Music, Grape Pie Contest, Wine Tasting. Check out some photos from previous events (did you know this event has been going on since 1961?!) and visit the website for more info. (image, naplesgrapefest.org)
Grapes not your thing? How about (them) Apples? Ithaca’s 30th Annual Downtown Apple Festival begins Friday, September 28th and runs through September 30th.
Plenty to do this weekend! Weather might be great Sat. and Sun. but a little cool… very Fall-ish. Enjoy.
